Julian Hansen

My roommate Dominic sent me a link to Julian Hansen’s portfolio and it’s got some pretty sweet stuff on it. Originally I was linked to a funny flowchart for selecting the right typography for the right job, but I really liked Hansen’s pixel art poster design. Here’s what Hansen had to say about it:

Documentary films are not about showing reality, but how to reinvent it. This annual poster is inspired by the way that the TV screen is built, by millions of pixels. Close to the poster you are only able to see a lot of pixels, but if you take a few steps back you will be able to see the payoff. Sometimes you got to take a few steps back to see the big picture.

Something about this really clicked for me so check it out.
